Codes of Practice for Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) – Revised 2020
The Codes of Practice for the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) are a set of customer-related standards, policies, procedures, and practices that T&TEC is required to adhere to when dealing with specific consumer issues.
These Codes, established by Regulated Industries Commission (RIC) were initially implemented in 2010 and were reviewed and revised in 2018 and amended in 2020 to ensure that they remain relevant and up to date with best practice. Since its introduction, the RIC has noted a marked improvement in T&TEC’s quality of service.
The Codes aim to:
- protect the interests of customers and vulnerable groups by providing avenues of redress for poor service or for meeting special needs;
- provide customers with greater clarity and understanding about the arrangements for the supply of services; and
- provide T&TEC with certainty about the services that it needs to deliver.
